2023 Sart Thai Day Ceremony

 The Thai Sart Day refers to merit-making activities for our deceased relatives and loved ones in the middle of the traditional Thai year usually sometime during September. People are making Krayasart from rice, bean, sesame and sugar cooked into a sticky paste and then wrapped with a banana leaf to offer to the monks on Sart Day and also to share with neighbors and friends.

Chalagputt involves the people bringing needed items to offer to the monks. They mark each package with a number and put a copy of the number in a container. The monks randomly pick from the container and whichever one they choose, the person with that number brings their offering to the monks.

This year, we will host the Thai Sart Day on Sunday, October 15, 2023. The schedule is as follows:

09:00 AM Ordination of participants in 8 precepts

09:30 AM Public brings offerings for the Chalagapat

10:00 AM Monks, participants, and public perform morning chant

11:00 AM Offer lunch to monks

01:00 PM Listen to Dharma (Buddha’s teachings)

03:00-5:00 PM Meditation lessons

06:00 PM Monks and participants perform evening chant

We would like to invite you to participate in the ordination accepting the 8 precepts and join in meditation, collection of merit, and listening to Dharma teachings.         

กำหนดวันทำบุญวันสารทไทย ปี ๒๕๖๖

วันอาทิตย์ที่ ๑๕ ตุลาคม ๒๕๖๖

วันสารทไทย   เป็นประเพณีทำบุญในฤดูใบไม้ผลิ  ด้วยวัตถุประสงค์   เพื่ออุทิศส่วนบุญกุศล ไปให้แด่บรรพบุรุษ ญาติมิตรผู้ที่ล่วงลับ    ถวายข้าวกระยาสารทแด่พระสงฆ์   และสงเคราะห์เอื้อเฟื้อ   ต่อเพื่อนบ้าน

สลากภัต   การนำสิ่งของอันควรแก่สมณะบริโภคมาถวายพระ  โดยวิธีจับสลาก โดยทำเครื่อง หมายติดไว้ที่ห่อของ  อีกใบหนึ่งรวมใส่ไว้ในกล่อง  แล้วให้พระจับสลาก พระท่าน จับได้เบอร์ของใคร เจ้าของก็นำสิ่งของนั้นไปถวายให้พระภิกษุรูปนั้น เพื่อความพร้อมเพรียงในการบำเพ็ญบุญดังกล่าว    จึงได้กำหนดจัดงานในวันอาทิตย์ที่  ๑๕ ตุลาคม๒๕๖๖ ซึ่งมีพิธีกรรมตามลำดับดังนี้

เวลา ๐๙.๐๐ น.   พิธีบวชธรรมจาริณี

            เวลา ๐๙.๓๐ น.   สาธุชนนำของติดสลากมาพร้อมกันที่วัด

            เวลา ๑๐.๐๐ น.   พระสงฆ์-ผู้ปฏิบัติธรรมพร้อมสาธุชน ทำวัตรเช้าแปล เจริญชัยมงคลคาถา  พิธีจับสลาก

            เวลา ๑๑.๐๐ น.   ถวายภัตตาหารเพลแด่พระสงฆ์และผู้ปฏิบัติธรรม สาธุชนรับประทานอาหารร่วมกัน

            เวลา ๑๓.๐๐ น.   มีพระธรรมเทศนาหนึ่งกัณฑ์

            เวลา ๑๕.๐๐ – ๑๗.๐๐ น. สอนกัมมัฏฐาน     

            เวลา ๑๘.๐๐ น.   พระสงฆ์และผู้ปฏิบัติธรรมทำวัตรเย็น  แปล  เจริญเมตตาภาวนา

ขอเชิญท่านสาธุพุทธศาสนิกชน ได้นำภัตตาหารคาว-หวานมาร่วม ทำบุญ ปฏิบัติธรรม  ฟังธรรม  รับพรจากพระสงฆ์  ได้ตามวันเวลาสถานที่ ดังกล่าวแล้ว  โดยความพร้อมเพรียงกันด้วย
