Asalahapuja & Khao Phansa Day Ceremonies

 Asalahapuja Day is considered to be one of the most significant Buddhist holy days. It falls on the full moon day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar year, generally in July. It is the day that Buddha delivered his first sermon, known as “Dhammachakkappavattana-sutta,” which he preached to five ascetics. One ascetic, named Kotanya, understood the insight and knowledge of life that Buddha had taught and requested that Buddha ordain him as a monk, thereby beginning the Sangha, or brotherhood of monks. This event marked the first time that the Triple Gems were completed, namely the Buddha himself, the Dharma (Buddha’s teachings), and the Sangha (brotherhood of monks). This was the day Buddhism was established in the world. 

Khao Phansa Day marks the beginning of the Buddhist lent, an annual three-month disciplinary practice for Buddhist monks. Buddha had specified that during three months of the rainy season, monks should stop traveling and avoid the dangers of traveling during this season by staying fixed in one temple. The Buddhist lent is observed by monks from the eighth lunar month to the eleventh lunar month, and is considered a sacred period of time for spiritual practice, a time to devote oneself more earnestly to the cultivation of mindfulness and compassion. Therefore, the ceremony will be held at the temple on Sunday July 21st 2024. The schedule is as follows:

06:00 AM             Monks, the 8 precepts participants and public perform morning chant

07:00 AM             Offer breakfast to monks and the 8 percepts participants

10:00 AM             Monks, the 8 precepts participants and public perform morning chant

11:00 AM             Offer lunch to monks and the 8 percepts participants

01:00 PM             Public led by monks carry candle, incenses and flowers, walking clockwise three times around the religious hall

01:30 PM             Listen to Dharma (Buddha’s teachings)

06:00 PM             Monks, the 8 precepts participants and public perform evening chant

                 วันอาสาฬหบูชา   เป็นวันเกิดขึ้นของพระสงฆ์เป็นองค์แรกในโลก   (ท่านอัญญาโกณฑัญญะ ฟังธรรมแล้วได้ดวงตาเห็นธรรม ทูลขออุปสมบท เป็นพระภิกษุสงฆ์รูปแรกของโลก) ยังพระรัตนตรัย คือพระพุทธรัตนะ พระธรรมรัตนะ และพระสังฆรัตนะ  ให้ครบสมบูรณ์   

               วันเข้าพรรษา เป็นวันที่พระสงฆ์ตั้งสัจจะอธิษฐานว่า ภายในฤดูฝนสามเดือนนี้ ไม่มีความจำเป็นจริงๆแล้วจะไม่ไปค้างแรมที่ไหน เพื่อความพร้อมเพรียงในการบำเพ็ญกุศ จึงได้กำหนดจัด

พิธีกรรมวันเข้าพรรษา  ในวันอาทิตย์ที่     ๒๑ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๗ ซึ่งมีรายละเอียดตามลำดับดังนี้

                          เวลา  ๐๖.๐๐ น.     พระสงฆ์พร้อมผู้ปฏิบัติธรรม   ทำวัตรเช้า  แปล 

                          เวลา  ๐๗.๐๐ น.     ถวายภัตตาหารเช้าแด่พระสงฆ์และผู้ปฏิบัติธรรม

                          เวลา  ๑๐.๐๐ น.     พระสงฆ์พร้อมสาธุชนทำวัตรเช้า   แปล

                          เวลา  ๑๐.๓๐ น.     พระสงฆ์ออกรับบิณฑบาต

                          เวลา  ๑๑.๐๐ น.     ถวายภัตตาหารเพลแด่พระสงฆ์และผู้ปฏิบัติธรรม

                          เวลา  ๑๓.๐๐ น.     พิธีเวียนเทียนประทักษิณรอบพระปฏิมา  ๓  รอบ

                                                        มีพระธรรมเทศนาหนึ่งกัณฑ์ 

                  เวลา  ๑๘.๐๐ น.   พระสงฆ์พร้อมผู้ปฏิบัติธรรม  ทำวัตรเย็น  แปลเจริญเมตตาภาวนา

                  จึงขอเชิญท่านสาธุพุทธศาสนิกชน ผู้ใจบุญทุกๆท่าน ได้นำภัตตาหารคาว - หวาน มาร่วมใน พิธีทำบุญวันอาสาฬหบูชา วันเข้าพรรษา    เพื่อเสริมสร้างบุญวาสนาบารมีธรรม  ได้ตามวันเวลาสถานที่ ดังกล่าว โดยความพร้อมเพรียงกัน
